The physical memory of a computer is either random access memory (RAM), which can be read or changed by the user, or read-only memory (ROM), which can be read by the computer but not altered in any way.
- RAM : 1- It is a temporary memory
2- It stores data while the computer is on. When you turn off the computer all data in RAM will be lost & erased.
3- It can be changed.
4- It is responsible to store opening information.
- ROM: 1- It is a permanent memory.
2- When you turn off the computer all data in ROM will not be lost & erased.
3- It can't be changed.
4- It is responsible to store data for staring up the computer, date & time … etc
ROM & RAM reside on the computer motherboard, the main board into which circuits are plugged.
